Geographic location of Iquitos city in Loreto, Peru. The black rectangle on the left bank of the Itaya River suggests the probable location area of the ā€œTelefunkenstationā€ (telegraph station) site of the 1912 Bluntschli and Peyer expedition (de Greve, 1938). This is tentatively based on the location of the ā€œTorre inalambricaā€ on the map ā€œPlano de la situaciĆ³n de Iquitosā€ (1:20,000) elaborated by AndrĆ©s Torres in 1918. The ā€œIquitos-Itayaā€ locality NĀ° 25 in Wesselingh et al., (2002, fig.Ā 17) is located in the same area. The map of the Iquitos area is modified after Joseph et al. (2014)
